portable table lamp

A stackable and portable table lamp, combining crafts with technology. Constructed from moulded ceramic to create the main exterior, housing all the necessary electrical components. The lamp consists of three lights, one base and two portable lights stacked upon one another. While configured, the base simultaneously charges each portable lamp for future use.

Conceptual mold for ceramic casting

In an ideal world, the lamps would use an induction charging method to connect each portable light to the base. However, I can only theorize that method will be possible. Instead, another proposal to ensure the functionality doesn't change is utilizing a magnetic charging connection.

The surrounding area of the connectors will also act as each lamp’s light switch by using a capacitive touch sensor. Set to only one brightness, the portable lights will slowly start to blink to notify the user of decreasing battery power.
